“Walambaji” Label… bloggers To Be Sued To The Stone Age!!!
Just to educate Kenyan Sockholmers about photos appearing in the various blogs. According to Swedish law (PUL) photos may be published without consent if they do not in any portray or attempt to portray the person in question in a ridiculous fashion or comprising situation e.g. drunk, naked etc. One of the Kenyan blogs has labeled those attending the event at the Ambassador’s residence as “walambaji”, that is Swahili for bootlicker. This is in direct contradiction to the Swedish PUL law and the publisher of photographs with a headline of this sort would have a case to answer. Labeling people bootlickers and publishing their photographs on the Internet is against the law in Sweden because this act exposes the people involved to ridicule. Unless of course the people in question have given their permission to have the photo published and labeled bootlicker.
Kenyans need to be educated, DO NOT depend others informing you of your rights citing freedom of expression and half-truths about photographs taken in public. Information in Sweden is available at the click of the computer mouse. FIND OUT! Wakenya wacheni kulala ata hapa ulaya! If my photograph had appeared on this blog with the walambaji label, I would have sued the blog owner back to the stone-age. He should consider himself lucky that Kenyans tend not to check up on facts.
PS. I have documented the walambaji articles, the headings and photographs just in case the blogger fellow back tracks and tries to pull them down or adjust the contents.
