Conjoined Twins- A Blessing Or A Curse?

 Lakshmi's Surgery

Dear readers incase you missed, there was a couple in India who gave birth to a child with 4 legs, 4 kidneys but with one head. There have been other cases of conjoined twins either connected through the head, stomach or the back in different countries, but it mostly happens in Asia where many families believe its a blessing and some families also believe its a curse.

Children are children and to give birth to a normal child is always considered to be a blessing so what would you consider giving birth to a conjoined twin?

If the doctors assured you before giving birth that you were going to give birth to  these kind of children, would you prefer to get rid of them by abortion or would you prefer to keep them?

Difficult question, but considering the abnormalities involved and 25 percent of surviving rate when they are grown or growing maybe some of us would prefer to get rid of them at an early age or before giving birth.Like in the case of the 4 legged child, the family was very poor and by giving birth to this child, they made a fortune and some people even offered alot of cash to buy her since they thought she was a godess and therefore a good investment.

The question still remains, is it a blessing or a curse…while in Asia they are considered a blessing…I bet in Africa, they would be considered a curse…..butdoisay…
