Prime Minister Raila Surprises Kenyans In A Club In Stockholm..
Kenyans in Stockholm had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Raila Odinga in a dinner conference yesterday, 23 October that was arranged by the Kenyan embassy in Sweden. The conference was so well packed with Kenyans from all over Sweden. Though many Kenyans thought that they would only be allowed in after showing an invitation card for the occassion, i met some that did not have one and they really felt at home, infact more at home than those with the cards.
I arrived just in time to listen to the prime ministers final speech. He instisted that Kenya needed to improve its infrastructure in order for Kenya to develop. He asked the Swedish goverment and other foreign countries to only help Kenya in developing its infrastructure because Kenya was capable of developing most of its other problems.
The security was tight, I could see police cars stationed at every corner and of course even inside the conference hall. Many Kenyans managed to take pictures with the prime minister, we will publish some as soon as possible.
After the dinner conference, some Kenyans headed to Vasa, a famous bar in Stockholm where Kenyans and friends mingle while some headed to Lila Wien another pub where Dekula, a zairean ,born in Tanzania with his band performs every friday, also another meeting place for Kenyans.
I decided to head to Lilla wien bar to listen to Dekula instead, I stayed there upto around 2230 and then surrendered, but as soon as I left,my phone started ringing, Clay where are you? Prime minister Raila has just come into Lilla Wien come back… I was tired and I chose to drive home instead. But first I thought, is it April fools day? Is the calender reversing or what?
Lilla wien was shaking, i could hear from the background, screams as Kenyans and friends bust into cheers,I understand the Prime minister could not resist Vumbi dekulas guitar and his ndombolo beat.Though he was still sorrounded by the security, some few Kenyan ladies made it to the dance floor to help him shake down.He even gave a speech thereafter and finished with HARAMBEEEEE, KENYA WOEE,SWEDEN WOEE AND FINALLY AFRICA WOEE.
I know there will be some critics about this, but personally I am impressed, the prime minister has his own private life,he may live it as he wish…..
Clay Onyango.

well put….
