The World Should Boycott World Cup 2010 In South Africa
South Africa a nation that the world cried for their independence has now turned to attacking its neighbours citizens and foreigners living their. The south African goverment has even asked those who are against crimes to pack up and leave South Africa, if they wish. If the goverment can issue such a statement, that was caught on video, why should the world send their football players to South Africa for the world cup 2010? What assures the world that the footballers security will be catered for by a goverment that does not care about its citizens and foreigners in its country.
Its amazing, how a high profiled tourist can be followed from the airport by thugs and get killed in south Africa the same day he arrives from abroad, can anyone explain, why you think apartheid was not the best medicine for these idiots? Their argument is that foreigners are coming to south Africa to take their jobs and maybe farms, if the foreigners are hard working than them, why shouldnt they be employed? South Africans should first go to school and reduce their illiteracy level and laziness, before they can be provided with jobs in their own country…..Boycott world cup in south Africa….butdoisay…

I do not believe that the leaders in South Africa are REALLY against the xenophobia. If they were, they would have acted decisively earlier on. I believe their thugs have given them an easier way to deal with the influx of people fleeing the violence and poverty from Zimbabwe and other countries. It is one thing to deport people out of their country; but a nation of people that can burn another human being alive is not worth giving the world cup. Maybe Mr. Burgstaller’sfamily will even agree. I wrote them a letter and asked them to support the boycott campaign by requesting hte Austrian goverment boycott the World cup.

I’m afraid I agree that the leaders of South Africa aren’t really against xenophobia, if they were they have the resources and power to put an end to it. We must boycott the world cup and global sporting events wherever our devout crooked leaders desire to put them. Obviously no matter where they are going to put it there are going to be problems in that society and people will find legitamite reason to boycott/protest these events.

I totally gree that they should not give to a country that is in the state it is in. If that was England, they would no way give us the world cup. I am however going, i have followed england for the past 4 years and spent around 50k to follow them home and away to build up caps to get tickets for big tournaments, so would be a wast eif i did’nt go.
There are some beautiful parts of the country and you need to be keeping your wits about yourself to have a good time.
But as you say…….why should a country have the chance to do so??!!!!
